Nachfolgend wird detailliert beschrieben, wie sie ein Backup der Pcounter Datenbanken erstellen.
Ein Backup kann nahezu ohne "downtime" erstellt werden. Die Dauer für einen Reimport der Daten hängt von der Anzahl Benutzer im AD/PCounter Datenbank ab.

Benutzerguthaben sichern

Hinweis:
Stellen sie sicher, dass der freigegebene Ordner Pcounter regelmäßig gesichert wird, da dieser alle Datenbanken enthält.

Pcounter Datenbanke-Dateien

• Domain.DBF/Domain.CDX – Enthält die Guthaben/Index file
• Popup.DBF/Popup.CDX – Client Codes Datenbank
• Passoc.DBF/Passoc.CDX – Zuordnung der Client Codes zu Benutzern
• Cardpin.DBF/Cardpin.CDX – Karten-ID/PIN Datenbank
• Printerpopupusers.DBF/ Printerpopupusers.CDX – Pcounter Users Datenbank

Pcounter Administrator

Wählen Sie Utility > Save All Balances um alle Benutzerguthaben in eine Batchdatei (z. B. FIRMABalances.BAT) zu speichern. Es werden die Guthaben der Ausgewählten OU gespeichert.

Alternativ können sie die Ansicht in PAdmin ändern, um die gesamte Benutzerliste anzuzeigen.
Wählen Sie  Domain > Select Domain und wählen Sie den Pcounter Server aus der Liste:

Es wird nun die Gesatmtliste der Benutzer angezeigt im der Sie Utility > Save All Balances  wählen können, um alle Guthaben in eine Batchdatei zu speichern.

Kommandozeile

Die Batchdatei kann auch über die Kommandozeile generiert werden. Öffnen Sie die Eingabeaufforderung und führen sie folgenden Befehl aus:
account backup pcounter, wobei ‘pcounter’ der Netbios Domainname der Domäne ist, für die Sie eine Sicherung erstellen wollen.

Importieren von Guthaben

Um gesicherte Benutzerguthaben wieder zu importieren führen Sie die zuvor erstellte Batchdatei aus dem Verzeichnis heraus aus, welches das Programm account.exe enthält.

Client Code Datenbank

Es ist nicht möglich, Client Codes und Client Code Zuweisungen aus den Datenbanken zu exportieren. Jedoch können die Datenbank-Dateien in MS Excel geöffnet werden und mit folgender Option importiert werden.

Wählen sie Database > Import

Stellen Sie sicher, dass die csv Datei, die sie mit Excel erstellt haben, das vorgegebene Format erfüllt.

Wählen sie die Datei aus, die sie importieren möchten.

Karten-IDs exportieren

Um die Daten der Pcounter ProID/PIN Number Datenbank zu exportieren, öffnen Sie eine Eingabeaufforderung und führen sie folgenden Befehl aus:

Alle Pcounter Benutzernamen/ID-Nummern werden in einer Textdatei gespeichert. (PIN Nummern können nicht exportiert werden, da diese verschlüsselt gespeichert sind.)

Um die ID-Nummern wieder zu importieren gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

Wählen Sie  Pro > Import

Wählen sie die Datei, die sie importieren möchten.

 

Wenn der Import abgeschlossen ist, erfolgt eine "Success" Meldung.

 

Pcounter Benutzerdatenbanken

Die Passwörter in der Pcounter User Datenbank werden verschlüsslet abgespeichert, können jedoch über das Menü  Database > Import importiert werden.

Stellen sie sicher, dass die Datei das korrekte Format besitzt.

Backing up Balances

To ensure that the Pcounter shared folder is backed up on a regular basis as this folder contains the Pcounter Databases.

Pcounter Databases

• Domain.DBF/Domain.CDX – Balance Database/Index file
• Popup.DBF/Popup.CDX – Client Codes Database
• Passoc.DBF/Passoc.CDX – Client code list Associations Database/Index files
• Cardpin.DBF/Cardpin.CDX – ID/PIN Databases
• Printerpopupusers.DBF/ Printerpopupusers.CDX – Pcounter Users database.

Pcounter Administrator

Choose Utility > Save All Balances to save the Balances in a bat/csv file. This will save all balances in the selected OU.

Alternatively, you can change the view in Open Padmin to show the full user list as below.
Choose Domain > Select Domain and select the Pcounter server from the list:

This will show the full list of users, where you can choose Utility > Save All Balances to save the Balances in a bat/csv file.

Command line

Open an MS-DOS Prompt window and run the following command : account backup pcounter, where ‘pcounter’ is here the Netbios domain name of the domain you are backing up the data for.

Importing Balances

In order re-import the balances, you can run the .bat file generated above from the location of account.exe

Client Code databases

Client codes can be used to assign cost centres and for department/client billing.

It is not possible to export data from the Client Code List and Client Code List Associations databases, but the Client Code List Database file can be opened using MS Excel and imported using the menu options below.
Choose Database > Import

Ensure that the ccsv file is in the format specified.

Choose the file to import.

Exporting Card ID Numbers

ID/PIN Numbers can be used when Pcounter is implemented in an environment where photocopy integration/secure/pull printing is required.

In order to export the data from the Pcounter ProID/PIN Number database, open an MS-DOS Prompt window and run the command below:

Which will place all Pcounter usernames/ID Numbers into a text file so that they can be re-imported.
Nb PIN Numbers cannot be exported as they are encrypted. See below on importing.
Choose Pro > Import

Select the file txt/csv file to import

This will display a success import message below:

Pcounter Users Database

Pcounter Users can be created in a scenario when there is no Active Directory or if ‘guest’ users need to be able to print.
These users need to authenticate against the Pcounter Users database using the Pcounter Client/Pcounter Popup.

The passwords within this database are encrypted, but can be imported using the method below, again using the Database > Import option as below.
Please ensure that the details are in the format specified.

Backing up Pcounter on OES or SLES system

All the files to backup on the Linux system are located at: /usr/novell/sys/pcounter
